New Facebook Page

FMDA has a meaningful presence in the digital world. Over 670 Facebook users have joined our revamped Facebook group page:‍ ‍5th Marine Division Association Official   ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/511781012169927/ )  A Facebook account is required to log on.  Leonardo Flores acts as administrator of this public and visible page, enabling interested parties to share stories, photographs, research, and personal searches.

The  page is devoted to the men of the 5th Marine Division and their attached units , both in WWII and when reactivated for Vietnam.  There are also three or four other active Iwo Jima-related Facebook group pages with thousands of followers. The Vietnam era is also well represented virtually on Facebook and on many other types of social media groups, podcasts, YouTube channels and online archives.

All of these methods are helping to keep the 5th Marine Division history alive and relevant to today's concerns.
